The WEEE recycling regulations makes it so that retailers, manufacturers and business users are responsible for keeping electrical waste out of landfills or from being incinerated. This will prevent harmful gases from plastics and glues from damaging the environment and causing health problems.
The main purpose of the new WEEE legislation to help lower the amount landfill caused by electrical waste. It will also encourage computer recycling. The WEEE legislation was appoved in the UK in 2006 and came into full action in July 2007.
